2Do App Reviews

Best Out There!

I tried many others, including for more expensive apps. This is hands down the best one. Yes it has it’s little bugs but thay are minor and each release get’s better and better.

incredible app

I am an Apple Certified Technical Coordinator and also manage all the IT-related activities at our advertising agency. Working in advertising, this app has saved my life. Almost every task I’m given has multiple steps — 2Do manages that aspect perfectly. There are so many from which to choose, but if I had to pick my favorite feature of 2Do: keyboard shortcuts. Dropbox syncing is awesome too. Props to the masterminds at Beehive!

Best ToDo App Yet

I’ve used LOTS of todo apps for both iOS and OSX. This is the best across both platforms. I love the full customization in the sidebar that is available. It is possible to turn on and off “quick sorts” in the left side pane. For instance, I don’t use “Today” so I turn it off. Then there is the quick filter “sun” in the top of each list, which is also customizeable. The features often overlap but that allows you, the user to set it up how you see fit. One of the best features is the “repeat from day completed” feature of a task. Example: I have a task “Vacuum out the car” that I want to perform once every 2 weeks. Well we all know that doesn’t always happen on time. But instead of 2Do being stupid and reminding you with a new task every 2 weeks no matter what, you have to COMPLETE the previous instance of that task BEFORE it is scheduled out another 2 weeks. Awesome.

Great! Not switching between Things and Omnifocus anymore

This is a great todo app. I found myself switching between Things and Omnifocus every few months. Omnifocus seems to have a lot of power, but I could never get it to work for me — I was working for it. Personally, I need to have multiple tags on tasks. I would use Things because the simplicity makes it easy to use, and it doesn’t get in the way. But I would have issues because I couldn’t do sub-projects, even if I created my main project as an “area of responsibility”. 2do is exactly what I needed! The power and flexibility to design my system in a way that works for me, and it’s still a beautiful app with a ‘simplistic’ user design. To top it off, it has a keyboard shortcut for everything (or at least everything I need to do). I highly recommend 2do, especially if you feel you’re an ‘in-betweener’ with Omnifocus and Things.

Very impressed - moved over from Things

I’m a big fan of task management apps and have tried several including To Do, Wunderlist, Reminders, and Things. Things has been my go-to app for several years now but it hasnt kept up with the others and lacks any kind of meaningful new functions. Nervously I signed up for the 3 week free trial with 2Do anxious about moving all my tasks, reminders, repeating events etc over. I was a little daunted at first but now I’m ten days into it and have already bought the full price version for Mac along with the iOS app. I’m so impressed and every day I learn something more. There is a comprehensive 80 page manual which is helpful but hands on day-to-day using is the best. My projects can have tasks and sub-tasks which can have their own dates. Repeating events can be paused and restarted. There are so many functions I have even yet to play with and I’m trying to just master the basics first. It was a big switch but I’m very glad I did. My one and only negative comment is their lack of customer service. I have sent 4 emails with questions I could not find answers to and only one email has been answered and not very helpfully either. Things had excellent customer service but the functionality of 2Do outweights the customer service of Things. I hope Things 3 will be worth the wait for those who haven’t thrown in the towel, like me. Good job 2Do!!

Best Task Organizer out there

I was on board with the first iPad and over the years have tried many different task apps that are out there, some free and some paid. 2Do is by far the best app out there, Hands Down! It is the most powerful in it’s ability to organize and prioritize my tasks yet can be as easy or comlex as you want it to be. The search and filtering capabilties are very strong as well. One big plus for me is the tight integration and syncing between my iPad, iPhone and Mac Desktop apps. The app definitely gets 5-stars from me however here are a few thigns I would really like to see integrated into future releases/updates: I wish there was a way to mark a task as started or "in-process" with possibly a quick note as to what you have done to begin the task. Many times a task might involve calling/emailing someone and you are forced to leave a message or wait to hear back. At least in my forgetful state, it‘s hard to remember if I‘ve called/emailed the person and am just waiting to hear back. I realize you can create sub-tasks for these “intermediate” steps but being able to mark the task as "in-Process" and perhaps changing the color and maybe even a follow-up reminder/date or folder for tasks in process would be a great/helpful feature. Also, there needs to be an easier way to convert emails into tasks. Ive used the steps as outlined in the FAQ to help with this but it just isnt as useful as the old ad-in whereby there was a shortcut key combination to add the email to your tasks along with a link back to the email. This would be a top priority in my book. Love the app guys. It has been a real lifesaver in trying to pull my life together.

APP IS GREAT WHEN IT SYNCS

This app has been a long time favorite on ios and now on OSX but recently the desktop version has stopped syncing properly and support from the devolper has been VERY POOR & UNHELPFUL! I have been trying to resolve with them for close to FIVE WEEKS to no avail! The only response I get is we are looking into it with our DEV team. I really wish they could assist in a solution so I could start using the desktop version again, it really is a great to do app when its working. 5 stars when properly functioning.

Solid App

This app is amazing! I recommend pairing it with their iPhone app. It is a powerhouse for productivity!

Excellent, needs just a few things

Love the flexibility of this app,. really very well done ! It would be most helpful though to have a couple of add ons such as, changing color scheme ( dark mode), etc. for those of us with vision challenges.

Best, best, best to-do app.. and it it is still the best :… and still a 5 star app

July 2016 Updated Review: The app keeps going stronger by the day. Its been 3 to 4 years since I switched to 2Do and have never looked back. Excellent App and excellent developer. Updated Review: There are so many apps in the iOS world that keep pestering you for writing reviews. But somehow 2Do is the app where I always want to write a review. I am always nervous that they will go out of business and pull out the app. Here is my unsolicited advice to the 2Do team. If possible, charge an yearly fee. I will pay it willingly. In fact I will be ecstatic to pay you every year for helping me keep my life organized. You are the best !!! Updated Review: Continue to love this app. Been using it consistently every single day for the last couple of years and it continues to amaze me how reliable, efficient and easy to use is this app. And it has so many features though never ever do those features get in the way. I would pay them again to make sure they continue to thrive and innovate. Awesome job guys !!!! I have toyed with several to do apps over the years. I had installed 2Do like 2 to 3 years back on my iPhone and for some reason did not like it at all. Even felt robbed of the dollars that I had to pay for the app. Then I started using iProcrastinate and loved it. Wrote a glowing review for it. In the meantime I am was getting good at using the to-do app. Half of the challenge with usefulness of the app is the individual has to use it consistently. At first certain things are not so great but then you start liking them and make it part of your daily to-do workflow. And that was the journey I was on with iProcrastinate. But then I started noticing the issues with sync. Also some of the usability items on the desktop version of the app were not intutive. And to top that every task had to have a due date. So, i started shopping for a better app and read a review on one of the blogs about 2Do. The blogger mentioned (similar to my experience) that the app was not that great 2-3 yrs back but it is now an awesome app. I was like, what the heck. I have a iPhone app already. Let me try the desktop version. Downloaded the trial, then purchased it in 10 days and have been using it for over 2 months and I LOVE IT…. If you want a simple app, this is not for you. But I believe everyone transcends from the phase of simplicity to make the app work for you. And this is what 2Do does. I have been using it religiously. I do not use a lot of features but the ones I use, I love them. And the sync is flawless. You can clearly see that the app is being built by team which is committed and in this for the long run. Not a hack put together. Keep it up.

as good as it gets, I guess

OK, they did finally email me back. Only to inform me that the feature I was asking about was not implemented on the app. Which is: I do a lot of searching on tags. This is mostly how I find currently relevant tasks. My searches are almost always "tag1 AND tag2". The app default is "tag1 OR tag2". I can manually change the OR to an AND in the search field, but since there is no way to change this default behavior, I must do this EVERY SINGLE TIME. Needless to say, annoying as all get out. Back to the search for a truly usable task app… I’ve update my star rating to 3 to reflect that they did get back to me. But, that’s as high as I’ll go until and unless they can implement this, seemingly, fairly simple request. I’ve written the developer 3 times now with a question on searching. NO RESPONSE. They apparently aren’t as keen on hearing from users as they let on. I’m dropping my star rating until and unless I hear back from them. I was a Things user, I’ved tried Wunderlist, Toodledo, Appigo - any number of task list apps. We all have. None are perfect, all are missing some feature or another. 2Do is no different. My main peeve with 2Do is that way it handles, or doesn’t, contacts and other attachments. For all its faults, Things gives you a good url link, and pulls contact info into the task very well when initiated from the Contacts app. 2Do won’t recognize a phone number as such and, therefore, if you have a todo to call someone, you can’t simply tap on a phone number and dial. Granted, you can look up a contact within the app, but that’s nowhere near as handy as the way Things treats a contact. And, I’ve not seen anything that will handle a pdf attachment like Wunderlist. Also, the swipe gesture to get to other screens doesn’t work well with my Otterbox case on my iphone. Its a pain to get it to work as you need to swipe from the screen edge, something that’s protected by the otter box. All in all, even with its short comings, 2Do is better than the other apps out there. But only by a nose.

The best to-do app, ever

I’m a project manager and I’ve tried pretty much every to-do app ever to track my own tasks. This is the best one, hands-down. It’s beautiful, it works well, it syncs across all my devices, and it’s flexible but provides good structure.

I love this app!

I’ve been using this app for several years now. It works perfectly for me. It allows me to stay on top of all my client projects, plan tasks in advance, and batch my time. The interface is intuitive and user friendly. This is the task manager for me!

Good App

I just finished the free trial period and decided to buy the desktop version because I was able to tweak 2do to work almost exactly how I’d like it to work. (I had purchased the iPhone app during the free trial period so I could test drive it too). So far, so good. A good feature on 2do is the ability to have tasks repeat only after completion. This wokred very well for my daily repeating tasks that sometimes I wouldn’t get done. Without the option to repeat upon completion, the tasks would continue to “pile up” and I’d have to go check off each one to catch up to the current day. Another good feature is the hide from today option, it is helpful for my lists that don’t need to be seen as tasks. For example, I use a list titled “shopping” and keep a grocery list, hiding it so the today list doesn’t get clogged up. When at the store, I pull out my iPhone app and check off all the items I’ve picked up. Simple. I’ve also customized 2do to fit my task management needs. I am able to keep track of several things at once, yet not have a clogged up Today list. The options in 2do allow me to choose what, when, where tasks appear. 2do app seems to work well for many different types of task management. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this app, in my opinion, is worth the price and works very well for my task management needs. One thing I would like to see is a monthly or weelkly calendar view.

Pure Nirvana - Bye Bye ToDo Cloud!!!

Absolutely hands down THE BEST app of its kind. I tried them all and wasted a ton of $$ and time. Don’t waste your time on Wunderlist, ToDo Cloud, ToDoist, And.Do, Errands, OneNote, Do!, gTask. Seriously - they all pale in comparison. This is the most robust, customizable intelligent app that I’ve ever used on my iPhone for organizing my life. One note - make an effort to truly learn 2Do - do not be a wuss. The Smart Lists are not super intuitive but once you get it, it is amazingly powerful. Can’t believe 2Do is the only app of its kind to have the Calander filter built in. I used to be a huge fan of Starfish’s SideKick 25 years ago - 2Do has many great features of the earlier PIMs. Super Job, Beehive. Please keep up the excellent work. This app is worth evety penny spent on it. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! If you ever need a Beta tester or a testimonial, please contact me. [One suggestion for improvment. Pease update the left side scroller so that the calendar icon is permenantly fixed at the bottom. I use this all the time and would like to not have to do 2 thumb flicks to access it so I can filter on dates].

Unresponsive

I’ve been using 2do for years. Restarted my computer today and app is blank and unresponsive. I need reliability from my to do app.

Incredibly Powerful To-Do Management

This is by far the most powerful to-do managment app available. I have tried almost every single to-do app out there in search of something that has everything I need, and this app is it. The fact that there is no means to share tasks with others (which I would like) does not tarnish this app, simply because it makes it up by being insanely flexible.

Best “2do” app out on the market. Literally

I’ve tried them all — Omnifocus, things, remember the milk, astrid, google tasks, reminders, toodledoo — you name it. 2do has the best feature set out of any I’ve seen, and makes it easy to organize / snooze your goals — and the integration with Reminders for native iOS support is the beez knees. The only ONE thing that it is missing that Omnifocus has is unlimited nested levels of subtasks. But I realize at that point, where I’m getting that granular, I’m spending more time organizing my lists than actually doing work. So this hasn’t been that big of a downfall.

The Best Task Manager That I Know Of

This is the app that I use to manage my complicated personal and business affairs. I’ve been using it for several years and it has worked well for me. I recommend it to demanding users. It might be too much for those just looking for a simple checklist.

Very helpful!

All todo applications take a little bit of time to get used to, but now that I have a workflow going with 2do, I can say it’s been very effective and very helpful for me! Very easy to manage my tasks, a lot of great features, sync features between Mac and iOS are perfect. It’s helped me to be much more organized! My suggestion would be to try the iOS app first. If you like that app and how it functions on the whole, but want to be able to input tasks much more efficiently on your Mac, then come back here and pick up the Mac App Store version.
