Very flexible and fits my needs
Like a few other reviewers I switched to 2Do from Things, whose no-nonsense interface design I loved but grew frustrated with limitation. I’ve tried a few other to-do apps but never found one that can be tailored to my needs — I am a graphic designer who is constantly juggling between projects by different clients, as well as other personal projects — until I tried 2Do. Still, I was hesitant just because of my love for the simplicity of design of Things. Never mind, I quickly got accustomed to the interface design of 2Do and once I actually used the app, its UI design doesn’t bother me as much as I thought it would. (Its iPhone counterpart has unusual UI design, too, and until I actually used it I didn’t have appreciation for the design)
Most anything I really like that 2Do allows me to organize projects by client > project > project specific tasks, and not having to adhere to strict GTD method ("area of responsibility"). This organization also applies to my personal projects, helping me to see my next task and where I am in the process. (By the way, 2Do is really flexible enough that it allows you to create “area of responsibility” if you want to)
I also like the fact that there is no additional cost — no subscription, no in-app purchase like other to-do app, which I find ridiculous. And it’s amazing that this app is continuously developed by an independent developer for years…much respect.
My only pet peeves with this app are lack of iCloud sync (although Dropbox sync works flawlessly…but since my Dropbox space is limited and I just kinda want to consolidate all app synching to iCloud) and its app icon design.
Overall, I am so happy I finally found a to-do app that I can happily live with, and I’m so glad I switched over. Highly recommended!
