Tried every To Do app under the sun….

I started out with Reminders… then found what i needed with Things. Things was good for a while, but slowly became old, and not flexible enough for my ever more complex needs. I did some research and tried a bunch of apps… notably Wunderlist, ToDoist, and Asana… okay but not my cup of tea. Then i met OmniFocus… i though..”wow this is powerful”… but i had to overlook the things that didn’t work the way i needed…. STILL, i thought i found my match. I happily plunked down for the premium pro features… and spent the rest of the next month tryin to figure out how to make things work for me. I thought i found the answer… but what i didn’t realize was that i spent more time tweaking trying to find the settings that i needed. It never worked quite the way i needed them too… but they did the job. i kept telling myself that.. “well in the next version they’ll totally have those features… it’ll all be okay”… but then i’d read the forums… and people have been asking for those same things for years… and the ceo said they were working on them.. but they weren’t easy, and they’d take time (ie…. not this year, or maybe next).

That’s when i started to hear about 2Do. To be honest, i HAD heard about it quite some time ago.. but i’d dismissed it by it’s dumb name and mediocre icon. I had totally dismissed it.. but i looked into it, and it seemed to have all the things that i liked about Things (tags!, drag n drop) and the power and modern features that OmniFocus has… but on top of that it has the things that i’d been wishing for.. reminders! mutiple tags, the most amazing integration with iOS Reminders that i’ve ever seen… frankly it’s (ALMOST) everything i’ve wanted in a ToDo app.

That said… i wish that it had a Review feature… that’s one thing that OmniFocus has that truly took my GTD game to the next level…

… and i wish it had ‘sequential projects’ and ‘templates’ ala OmniFocus…. but frankly.. for all the things that it DOES, i can overlook those and hope for those in a future release.
