2Do or not 2Do...
I have tied so many of these GTD or GTDish apps going back to Midnight Inbox sevreal years ago. I was ineffective at using them UNTIL I actually read David Allen’s book - Getting Things Done. Once reading about the actual system that most of these apps at least resemble, I was able to use them all much more effectively. That being said, I have come to believe that prefer the approach of 2Do over all the others including the 800 pound gorilla in the GTD room - OmniFocus. But here’s the thing - they all work pretty well. They have minor differences in approach and visuals. Some sync, some don’t, some are pretty, some aren’t. But I believe any of them will work for you if you dedicate the time to the system and adapt to YOUR workflow. I used Things forever. It’s great. I used OmniFocus for many many months. It’s great. So why did I settle on 2Do? I prefer the look of it. I prefer the incredible flexibility of it. You can go strict GTD or something much less. It syncs well across Apple devices. I like being able to use multiple tags or contexts or lists or whatever verbiage you prefer. Which is the point. It can do practically anything in any system, which can be overwhelming. I’d start with a list - and then mulple contextual lists - and then bring in projects, etc. Start small and work your way into the program slowly and methodically and you’ll see how amazing it can be. But if it doesn’t work for you, then that’s okay too. There isn’t one app to rule them all for everyone.
