Still THE Best GTD App
Update (11/12)
I downloaded the latest version, and it STILL is the best GTD app out there! The desktop version simply is awesome, and new features they have just added (such as clicking on the “Category” now shows a List of all the tasks associated with that category, even more keyboard shortcuts for things, color-coding your lists, and more) is making it better and better.
Also, their creation of a Walkthrough Tutorial helps those who aren’t familiar with the software to get up and running quickly. As a note: I’m managing over 100 tasks in this app, and they are separated into 5 different categories, with each category housing at least 3 Lists, and I’m able to see a “clear picture” (personally and professionally) of EVERYTHING I need to do…. To me, this is the best app for getting things done!
Previous Review….
After using this app for over a year now, I’m still very satisfied with it! It is very easy for a novice to use, yet it can scale up to full-size projects if necessary! The key to using this software is to first have a “picture” in your mind of how you would like to organize your life. For instance, I get pulled in a myriad of directions, from Ministry to Business and Personal. The good news is that I can create those aforementioned items as “Categories,” which then allow me to break those down into Lists.
Within the Lists, I can easily write down my tasks. And, with the “Inbox” built into the app, there are times where I can’t determine what List a task belongs, so I can easily and quickly get it off my mind, into the Inbox, and then think it through later. But, the best feature I have begun to use more than before is their “Start Date.” It’s SO helpful to use this on tasks that I have sitting in Lists, as I can place a “Start Date” (along with a time!) with them, and when you have your lists set to “Start Date,” those tasks automatically show up in your “Today” List.
ONE CAVEAT: The only thing that is missing, and I honestly don’t know whether they will do it or not, is the ability to share checklists and projects with people. You can do that via email, but if they are able to allow people to share tasks, projects, and checklists BETWEEN the same app, with different 2Do users, that would be ABSOLUTELY AWESOME….
Other than that, this is a very, very good app for individuals, and complex projects for individuals.
